"76" Pepper Mill by Carlo Mazzeri "76" Pepper Mill by Carlo Mazzeri
Alessi
After an early collaboration with Carlo Scarpa in Venice, Carlo Mazzeri took part in the competition for the Colonia Olivetti in Brusson and the Carrara Chamber of Commerce with Mario Righini's studio, and took one of the top places. In 1957 he designed the cocktail shaker "870" with Luigi Massoni, which was one of the first Alessi objects designed by external collaborators and which is still in production and can be found in bars worldwide. In the '60s and '70s he designed a complete collection of objects for Alessi with Anselmo Vitale which were primarily for use in the hotel industry. In addition to the design and creation of consumer products, he has also been involved in civil and industrial construction. With the design of the "76" Pepper Mill, it seems as if Mazzeri has definitely incorporated his design of consumer products into his involvement in industrial construction. The piece has a very industrial feel, looking almost like a brushed metal smoke stack. It is made from 18/10 satin finished stainless steel and features a twist top to grind fresh peppercorns. Designed by: Carlo Mazzeri Features: -Industrial inspired consumer design -Twist top grinder -18/10 stainless steel -Satin finish This item features same-day shipping on orders placed before 2 PM EST Monday-Friday

"9090" Espresso Coffee Maker by Richard Sapper, 1979 "9090" Espresso Coffee Maker by Richard Sapper, 1979
Alessi
Born in Munich in 1932, Sapper studied Philosophy, Anatomy, Graphics, Engineering and Economics, proving him to be one of the most well-rounded designers to date. With such an understanding of the complex physical elements, the aesthetic and monetary aspects of design, Sapper is a truly unique breed of master designer. A ten time winner of the Compassi d'Oro, it is easily understood that his prime interest lies in the design of technically complex objects from ships to watches. The 9090, as designed by Richard Sapper was not only the first espresso coffee maker in our history, but it was also the first Alessi object designed for the kitchen after the 30's. It also gained us our first Compaso d'Oro Award in 1979 and it is on display in the Permanent Design Collection at the MOMA in New York. The 9090 was the first of our amphibious objects, those that can be used in the kitchen but are attractive enough to be used directly at the table. It proved that there was ample space on the market for "good looking coffee machines," and it spurred on almost all household goods manufacturers to try to imitate our lead. Even after twenty years it remains one of our most popular coffee machines. Designed by: Richard Sapper, 1979 Features: -Coffee and espresso maker design -18/10 stainless steel -Mirror-polished finish -3 Cup Dimensions: 7"H x 4.25" diameter -6 Cup Dimensions: 8"H x 5" diameter This item features same-day shipping on orders placed before 2 PM EST Monday-Friday
